Dear Friends, Some of you have asked how you can continue to support the church financially with your regular giving even while you are unable to physically come to church during these days. I am very grateful for your generous spirit especially during this period when some of you are suffering financially. If you feel that you are able to continue to support the church, then an easy way to give has been set up on our website. Just click the button and follow the instructions. Ananias Training

Do you want to make a difference?

We are called, in our own individual ways, to help others to build a closer relationship with Jesus, and there are some tools that each of us can learn to use in this task.

Inspired by the conversion of St Paul, Ananias Training equips each of us in practical skills that are useful in helping others to get closer to Jesus. These are skills that anyone can use to journey spiritually alongside others, assured that Jesus Christ is also walking with you. Where do Ananiases make a difference? Ananiases can make a difference just by being there for someone who needs to grow in their relationship with Jesus; being able to talk about their own relationship with Jesus and responding appropriately. Breaking the cultural silence that exists around Jesus.

If this sparks your interest then please reach out to Joan Kent at tran_joan@yahoo.co.uk or the parish office and let us know you’re interested and we will provide you with the dates and log in for the online zoom course with Clare Simpson.

We Need Your Photos

We would like to fill the chairs in the church with photos and / or pictures of you all. Can you send us photos or pictures of yourselves and family. Your photos or pictures can be emailed to us at hook@portsmouthdiocese.org.uk We will then print them off and attach them to the chairs in the church.

Call from Pope Francis for the Rosary
Call from Pope Francis for the Rosary
On the Feast of St Mark, Pope Francis issued a Letter to the Faithful for the Month of May 2020 asking us to pray the Holy Rosary. "Dear brothers and sisters, contemplating the face of Christ with the heart of Mary our Mother will make us even more united as a spiritual family and will help us overcome this time of trial. I keep all of you in my prayers, especially those suffering most greatly, and I ask you, please, to pray for me. I thank you, and with great affection I send you my blessing". Direct Debits and Standing Orders

We have received a number of requests from Parishioners who normally, very kindly, donate to our Parish using the envelopes when they attend Mass.

As this is no longer possible, we are being asked for our Bank account details to set up Standing Orders . In response, the details are as follows: `

Account number 00880117
Sort code 30 93 04
Name PRCDTR Sacred Heart Hook

We have been blown away by the number of people offering help for the elderly, sick and housebound and now offers of financial help for our Church and Priests, particularly when we all face a time of difficulty and uncertainty.

The Bible is THE Word of God and having been created though the works of the Holy Spirit, is far more that just a historical text.
